Growing a Generation of Environmental Champions
CIPAD’s School Greening Programme goes beyond planting trees. It seeks to create a generation of young environmental champions who understand the importance of protecting the environment and take that message beyond the school.
Through the programme, CIPAD provides tree seedlings to schools and encourages students to adopt a tree and take responsibility for caring for it until maturity.
Students are also trained on environmental conservation and the importance of protecting natural resources.
From one tree to a community movement
The model is designed to extend conservation beyond the school. Students take the knowledge and experience they gain at school back to their homes and communities, encouraging families to participate in environmental conservation. One student.
